Position Title: Ministry Assistant for the Discipleship Pastor
Job Type: Part-Time (26 hours per week)
Purpose:
To serve the church by providing administrative support to the Discipleship Pastor, assisting effectively in the administration of the discipleship ministries of the church.
Key Responsibilities:
Discipleship Pastor Support (25%)
- Handle phone calls and manage the calendar for the Discipleship Pastor.
- Screen incoming calls and maintain organized ministry files.
- Assist with expense reports, conference registration, travel arrangements, and other administrative tasks.
- Prepare correspondence on behalf of the Discipleship Pastor.
Discipleship Ministry Support (50%)
- Support various discipleship ministries (Groups, Courses, Men’s, Women’s, Senior Adults, etc).
- Collaborate and work in coordination with the Next Gen Ministries (Kids, Students, Recreation)
- Serve as Product Leader for REALM Connect and Ministry Grid, training staff and volunteers.
- Maintain updated ministry records and handle curriculum orders and distribution.
- Assist with budget tracking, presentations, and handouts for teaching experiences.
- Manage and promote discipleship resources for sale.
- Coordinate communication and logistics for discipleship events and activities.
Sundays and Weekday Programs (25%)
- Be available during church programs (Sundays and Wednesdays).
- Supervise Connection Tables Hosts and ensure adequate coverage.
- Support Sunday Connect Groups Leaders and other adult groups.
- Assist with volunteer scheduling and training using Planning Center Platform.
- Help members and guests with event and program registration.
Working Hours:
- 26 hours per week (20 office hours and 6 during service hours).
- Flexible support for church-wide and major events.
Qualifications:
- Servant heart aligned with FBCK mission.
- Agreement with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 of the Southern Baptist Convention.
- Church membership within 90 days of employment.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Preferred experience: administrative,
customer service or communications.
- Minimum of 2 years of college or an Associate degree (experience considered).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Competence with Windows and Mac operating systems.

Experience with MS Office (Excel, Word, Power Point), Mac Products, and Google Suite.
- Familiarity and willingness to learn new communication and productivity technologies, such as Facebook, Zoom, Slack, Dropbox, Canva, etc.
