Position Title: Ministry Assistant for the Student/Young Adult Pastor
Job Type: Part-Time (up to 24 hours per week)
Purpose:
To serve the church by providing administrative support to the Student / Young Adult Pastor.
Relationships:
- Shall be hired by the church for an indefinite period of time.
- Shall be under the supervision of the Student / Young Adult Pastor.
- Shall work in unity with the Next Generation Ministry Team in implementing assigned duties.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Receive phone calls regarding general questions pertaining to Student & Young Adult ministries.
- Arrange appointments for and maintain/track calendars for the Student / Young Adult Pastor.
- Screen all incoming calls for the Student / Young Adult Pastor.
- Maintain ministry files and records.
- Maintain purchase receipts and budget tracking sheets.
- Prepare sick time, vacation, and personal hour requests for the Student / Young Adult Pastor.
- Maintain spreadsheets for registrations, fundraisers, payment records, attendance, etc.
- Assist with presentation and handout creation for weekly teaching experiences for pastor.
- Prepare curriculum, literature, and other materials needed to facilitate weekly ministries.
- Assist in publicizing the Student & Young Adult ministries in all written, digital, and online platforms.
- Prepare correspondence such as birthday cards, first-time guest letters, postcards, leader communications, etc.
- Make travel and accommodation arrangements for all travel related to student ministries (camps, mission trips, events, etc.).
- Facilitate all necessary contracts and reservations for events, fundraisers, outings, etc.
- Ensure all necessary medical release and registration forms are obtained for participants in events.
- Complete and submit all event / calendar requests relating to the Student & Young Adult ministries.
- Maintain promotional and informational materials related to Student & Young Adult ministries.
- Provide additional administrative support as needed for the Next Generation Ministry Team.
- Assist with decorations, catering, and staffing of special meetings and events.
- Stock and facilitate the operation of student cafe.
- Attend and participate in Next Generation Ministry Team meetings.
- Assist with planning and implementation of leadership meetings and trainings.
- Assist in the selection and recruitment of volunteers at pastor’s discretion.
- Assist with receptionist phone coverage when necessary.
- Complete other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor, Executive Pastor, and Discipleship Pastor.
Working Hours:
The Next Generation Ministry Assistant is a part-time (up to 24 hours per week) position.
- Additional hours may be approved by the Discipleship Pastor on a special event/need basis.
Qualifications:
- Be someone above reproach and complementary to the vision and mission of the church.
- Must be in full agreement with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
- Church membership within 90 days of beginning employment.
- Ability to pass an extensive background check.
- Administrative experience (preferred).
- Competent with Apple operating systems and programs such as keynote and pages.
- Data entry and record keeping experience (preferred).
- Willing to serve as a member of the Next Generation Ministries team.
- CPR/AED certification (within first 90 days).
- Multicultural / Bilingual experience is preferred.
