Sports for the Nations Teams

 Once the Upward Season is done, we start the next chapter with Sports for the Nation Teams.

- We can all agree that development, discipleship, and transformation have something in common: time and intentionality. I noticed that every time we end our Basketball season at Upward, we have mixed feelings; on the one hand, we feel a bit tired, and the break around the corner looks good for everybody; still, on the other hand, we are just starting to see the fruit of our hard work and the changes in how players behave, play, become a team, and how they are starting to flourish after ten weeks of dedication. Then the cycle began again... we took a long break for more than three months, and by the time the players came back for the next season, we almost had to start all over again!

- After lots of prayer and thinking, I decided to take action and try something different, at least for us!

- We will start with an extra month of training with special teams that will practice twice a week (Tuesday & Thursday) and have a game on Saturday vs. other institutions; we will begin with: 3rd - 5th (Div. 3) and Middle School (Div. 4) and High School (Div. 3)

- We will call this group Sports for the Nations Teams! (SFN Teams)

- How are we going to do this?

- Div. 3 and Div 4 coaches will give me three names per team by the next week (I will invite the two first names, and the third name will be my backup plan)

- The idea is to increase the amount and quality of training and discipleship experiences since two or three coaches will practice with one team, and we will have more time and space to pursue development, relationships, and experiences with these players and their families.
